IAC BOWLING: NV DOWNS US / PB, 3-1, TO WIN DIVISION TITLE (2019-02-05)

NEWARK VALLEY - Recently-crowned IAC boys champion Alex Umiker rolled a 680 series to lead the Cardinals to a 3-1 win over Union Springs / Port Byron at Cardinal Lanes Monday. The victory carried NV (47-17) to the regular season championship in the IAC Large School division. In the girls match, division champ US / PB won, 4-0.

BOYS
The Cardinals lost the opening game, 911-891, then won by scores of 876-759 and 968-818 to take the total pinfall, 2735-2488.

Alex Umiker opened with a 225 and closed with a 256 to pace NV. Kyle Pratt contributed a 237-608 and Sam Umiker added a 204-545.  Jason Brown shot a 157-436, Lucas Frank had a 188-426 and John Fiacco tallied a 144-415.

Mitchell Hamel had  a 289-645 and Matthew ward added a 210 game for the Wolves.

GIRLS
US / PB won 696-632, 820-610 and 806-640, taking the total pinfall, 2322-1882.

Keri Jesmer led the charge with a 223-552.

Lily Austin rolled a 161-452 for NV. Victoria Mellem added 143-375 and Rosie Hines chipped in with a 133-375. Lauren Gwardayak shot a 141-369, Kori Hall had a 112-311 and Hunter Gorsline finished with a 224 series.
