IAC JV GIRLS BASKETBALL: NEWARK VALLEY CRUISES TO 51-POINT VICTORY (2019-02-17)
Tioga County Sports ReportNEWARK VALLEY - All nine players scored as Newark Valley crushed to a 64-13 IAC South Large School victory over Edison in JV action here Tuesday.
This game was essentially over in the first quarter as the Cardinals built an 18-5 advantage in the first eight minutes. NV would hold the Spartans to one point in the second period and shut them out in the third.
Taylor Benjamin posted a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge. She also had a pair of steals.
Allison Walker contributed 11 points and two steals; Makana Gardner tallied eight points, seven rebounds, four steals, three assists and two blocks; Hayley Beebe registered eight points, seven steals and two assists; and Jasmine Graham chipped in with seven points, nine rebounds, nine steals, three assists and one block.
Kalyna Graham aided the win with seven points and six steals; Rachael Walker had six points, five boards, two steals and a block; Faith Payne added two points and Cymbri Jefferson pitched in with one point and seven boards.
Payton Littlefield led Edison with seven points.
NV (16-0) can lock up an undefeated regular season with a win at Notre Dame this evening.
The Cardinals will host Whitney Point in the IAC JV Large School Championship Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
