POSTPONEMENTS: WINTER STORM MAYA WIPES OUT SCHEDULE (2019-02-12)

TIOGA COUNTY - Once again, Mother Nature has won out over high school sports, forcing several basketball postponements.

The STAC basketball semifinals have been pushed to Wednesday and the finals will be moved to Friday. The Owego boys and girls teams are in the finals. The girls will play the Elmira-Norwich winner at 6 p.m. and the boys will play the Elmira-Oneonta winner at 8 p.m. Both finals will be held at Elmira High School.

The IAC South Small School tie-breaker between S-VE and Newfield will be played Wednesday night at Newfield High School at 6 p.m.

The IAC JV Boys Small School Championship between Candor and Union Springs will be played Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. at Candor High School.

The game between Newark Valley and Chenango Forks has also been postponed. Both teams are in must-win situations to qualify for the Section IV playoffs. Unless Section IV makes changes to the seeding plan, today is the last day the games could be played and still count toward qualifying.
