CANDOR - Tioga hung around for a little over a quarter, but a more experienced Candor squad would pull away for a 55-28 IAC South Small School victory here Tuesday.
 
Indian senior Searra Allen had the hot hand, pouring in a game-high 23 points on the night. She put up a modest five as Candor took a 15-11 lead into the second quarter, but pumped out 10, including a 3-pointer, in a 16-point period that boosted the advantage to 31-19 at halftime.

Brooke Wilcox and Braelyn Hornick each canned three in the first period.

Julia Bellis had four points for Tioga in the opening stanza and Olivia Ayres knocked down a trey in the second.

Eve Wood would hit from long range in the third period, but the Tigers could only muster five points while Candor put up 14 more to build a 45-25 advantage. 

Hornick notched her second and third treys of the night and collected eight of her 13 points in the quarter. She would end the night with a double-double as she also pulled down 15 rebounds.

Allen added four points in each of the final two periods. She also had nine steals, five blocks and five rebounds on the night.

Jennah Kareem contributed nine points, eight boards and three blocks to the win.

Wood led Tioga with seven points. Bellis, Rebekah Richter and Giovanna Rossi added five apiece.

Tioga (0-1, 0-1) hosts Newfield Friday. Candor (1-1, 1-0) visits Newark Valley (1-1, 0-1) Friday.
