Tioga County Sports Report
TIOGA COUNTY - There are seven events on the schedule, the majority of which will take place on the basketball court. Two of those games will pit Tioga County teams - Candor and Newark Valley - against one another.

The Owego boys basketball and swim teams will be at competing at home.

BOYS BASKETBALL
Newark Valley (0-1) at Candor (3-1, 1-0), 7 p.m.:
Last time out, the Cardinals dropped a tough one against Waverly while Candor held off Tioga.

S-VE (2-0) at Odessa-Montour (1-2), 7 p.m.: The Panthers are coming off a big win over Class D state semifinalist Newfield. O-M lost a tough one to Southern Cayuga.

Horseheads (0-0) at Owego (2-0), 7:15 p.m.:
The Indians won the STOP-DWI Winter Classic while the Blue Raiders will be playing their first game of the season.

BOYS SWIMMING
Johnson City (0-0) at Owego (0-1), 4:30 p.m.:
The under-manned Indians were competitive in a season-opening loss to Windsor. It's the first meet for the Wildcats, whose roster is more than three times the size of Owego's.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Candor (1-1) at Newark Valley (1-1), 7 p.m.:
Candor is coming off an impressive win over Tioga while NV dropped a close battle with Waverly.

Odessa-Montour (1-1) at S-VE (0-1), 7 p.m.: The Indians fell to Southern Cayuga in a close one Tuesday while the inexperienced Panthers took their lumps against Newfield.

WRESTLING
SVEC (0-0) at Valley Duals (Ilion), 3 p.m.:
The Eagles will switch modes from a bracket-style tournament to a dual meet tournament. SVEC was sixth in the 15-team Clyde Cole Invitational last weekend, sending eight of 12 competitors to the podium.
