THE WEEK AHEAD: 14 BASKETBALL GAMES HIGHLIGHT BUSY WEEK (2018-12-09)

Tioga County Sports Report
TIOGA COUNTY - It's a busy week on all fronts with multiple events on the schedule. Fourteen of the 30 activities will be contested on the basketball courts.

After a slow day Monday things begin to pick up with nine events on Tuesday. Friday is also a busy day with eight activities planned.

Following are some, but not all, of this week's top clashes. (A complete listing of all events for the week can be found on the school pages.)

MONDAY (1)
• The Owego girls basketball team puts its 2-0 record on the line at Elmira (1-0).

TUESDAY (9)
• Candor boys basketball gets a test when 2018 state semifinalist Newfield comes to town.

• Newark Valley takes its bowling team to Waverly for an IAC clash.

• S-VE boys basketball looks to go 4-0 at home against Edison.

WEDNESDAY
• Owego hosts M-E in STAC bowling.

THURSDAY
• The Candor bowlers host Edison at Owego Bowl.

• Newark Valley wrestling visits SVEC for the IAC Division I dual meet opener for both teams.

FRIDAY
• S-VE hosts Tioga in boys basketball.

• Both teams will be seeking their first win when S-VE girls basketball visits Tioga.

• The Owego wrestlers head to the two-day Campbell-Savona-Bradford Holiday Tournament.

SATURDAY
• Newark Valley hosts Watkins Glen in boys basketball.

• The Owego indoor track team competes in the Finger Lakes Invitational at SUNY Cortland.

• SVEC wrestling heads to the Dandy Duals in Towanda, Pa.
