Tioga County Sports Reports
ENDWELL — Candor’s Jacob Banks and Owego’s Patrick Tammariello will compete in the 2023 Scoville-Meno TCGA Junior Tour Championship at Binghamton Country Club Monday. Candor’s Taylor Brock will follow them at the PGA Central New York Section Junior Tour Championship Tuesday and Wednesday at Kaluhyat at Turning Stone in Verona.

TCGA JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP
Tammariello tees off at 9 a.m. with Maine-Endwell standout Blaise Brixner and Bennett Snyder, who was Vestal’s No. 2 player this past season.

Brixner finished 39th at the NYSPHSAA state championships and Snyder took 89th.

Tammariello is a two-time All-Tioga County first team selection, was named a STAC Central/East All-Conference all-star and was selected to the The Sports Reports All-Region second team.

Banks, a two-time All-Tioga County Player of the Year and a two-time state qualifier, tees off at 9:40 a.m. in a foursome which includes McCarthy Snyder, Chase Buckley and Sammy Ciaravino.

Banks, the IAC medalist this past season and The Sports Reports All-Region first team member, placed 85th at states.

CNY JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP
Brock, a two-time All-Tioga County first team selection and an honoree on The Sports Reports All-Region first team this year, will play with Mitchell Archer of Syracuse, Chris Stilwell from Whitesboro, and Cortland’s Andrew Partigianoni, the foursome teeing off at 8:45 a.m.

Partigianoni and Stilwell have two wins apiece this summer, and Archer, who placed 30th at the state championships, has one. Brock is seeking his first victory, but has finished among the top three twice and has two other top 10 showings.
