YOUTH GOLF: CANDOR'S BANKS 3RD, OWEGO'S TAMMARIELLO 6TH AT TCGA JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS (2023-08-07)

ENDWELL — Candor’s Jacob Banks placed third in the 16-18 division at the 2023 Scoville-Meno TCGA Junior Tour Championship at Binghamton Country Club Monday. The recent grad shot 7-over-par 78.

Owego’s Patrick Tammariello finished sixth with an 83. Vestal’s Bennett Snyder, who along with Banks was a NYSPHSAA state qualifier this past spring, captured the medalist honor with a 75. Joey Dell was the runner-up, carding a 77.

Banks and Tammariello were at the top of the leaderboard through the first three holes (10 strokes), and Tammariello and Snyder were tied for the lead at the turn, each carrying a 37. Banks was tied for third with a 38.

NOTE: Candor’s Taylor Brock will compete in the PGA Central New York Section Junior Tour Championship Tuesday and Wednesday at Kaluhyat at Turning Stone in Verona.
