YOUTH GOLF: CANDOR’S BROCK CLIMBS TO 8TH AT CNY JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP (2023-08-09)

VERONA — Candor’s Taylor Brock recorded the fifth-best score of the day to finish eighth overall at the PGA Central New York Section Junior Tour Championship Wednesday at Kaluhyat at Turning Stone.

The recent grad posted a 7-over-par 78, climbing eight spots from his 16th place spot after Tuesday’s first round.

Brock birdied the par-4 sixth and seventh holes to finish the front nine at even-par 36. He also birdied the par-5 18th hole. Brock had a two-day total of 167.

Whitesboro’s Chris Stilwell posted a 2-under 70 to finish at 1-under 143. Mitchell Archer of Jamesville-DeWitt carded a 76 to take runner-up honors with a 150.

Brock finished the season ranked ninth out of 80 golfers in the CNY PGA Boys 16-18 age division.
