YOUTH BASEBALL: TC LIGHTNING HOLDING TRAVEL TEAM TRYOUTS (2023-08-21)

TIOGA COUNTY — TC Lightning Baseball is excited to announce the continuation of a dedicated travel baseball program for players who are interested in the following:

Continuous development of the offensive and defensive fundamentals of baseball for future success.

Continuous evaluation of the player’s skills, ability and attitude. All data collected will be shared with the player and parents.

Feedback that will prepare the player for the travel season as well as the next level.

The Lightning will only be keeping 11 players. Not everyone will receive an offer to play.

The age group is 14-15U. Players must NOT turn 16 before May 1, 2024.

Tournaments
TC Lightning will be playing in various tournaments throughout New York state and Pennsylvania.

The team will also be attending at least two “away” tournaments which will require a hotel stay.

The Lightning will play 5-7 tournaments with the first tournament being in the spring, however, practice will continue regularly through the fall/winter to prepare for spring tournaments. TC Lightning will also schedule scrimmages and games to keep in tune for tournaments.

Practices
Practices will be held once a week minimum and will start roughly two weeks after tryouts. The practice schedule will be released with all dates and times.

Tryouts
Will be held Sunday, Sept. 3, 9 a.m. to noon at the Owego Free Academy turf field (no metal cleats).

Cost / What’s Included
$900 per player ($200 commitment fee will be due within two weeks of team selection, the remaining balance will be due no later than Nov. 15, 2023).

A minimum of five tournaments.

Two game jerseys, two game pants, two belts, two pair socks, one hat, one team bat bag, one helmet.

Outdoor fielding and batting practices (weather permitting).

Indoor practices and workout sessions.
