SECTION IV GIRLS GOLF: SVEC’S GILLETTE EARNS MEDALIST HONOR AGAINST LANSING (2024-04-22)

ITHACA — Spencer-Van Etten/Candor’s Lauren Gillette was the lone golfer to break 50 in Tuesday’s Section IV girls golf match against Lansing Tuesday.

The Eagles’ sophomore carded a 47 on the par-36 RaNic Golf Course to earn the medalist honor.

The Bobcats won the match, 213-231.

Rounding out SVEC’s scoring were Annika Walle with a 54, Lilly Kunzman with a 63 and Gwen Shaw at 67.

Lansing was led by Hailey Baughan with a 50 and she was followed by Alessandra Monacelli at 51. Miley Palmer added a 55 and Mckenna Syer and Anna Lombardi both shot 57, only of which would count toward the team score.

Also competing, but not scoring, were SVEC’s Emma Veasey with a 74 and Lansing’s Alana Knapp Ward with an 81.

SVEC visits Vestal Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at the Apalachin Golf Course.
